Your Bio

I received my first "real" camera when I was 17. I had always been somewhat artistic but could never really draw or paint well. Once I realized that the camera could do the hard part (i.e. record the images for me) I was able to rely on my own sense of composition and design to complete the images the way I envisioned them.

I spent most of my professional career shooting commercial and marketing images to satisfy other people's visions so eventually I started to lose my love and appreciation for photography. It wasn't until I retired that I was able to completely remove myself from shooting for others and start shooting for myself.

Now I have regained my passion and joy of photography. I live in Colorado where I have access to the incredible beauty of the American Southwest. I have also rekindled my interest in black & white photography.

Hidden Potential : Let me uncover the hidden potential in your images. Just as in the days of printing in a darkroom, experience and knowledge can make or break a photo. Many photos may have a really wonderful image hidden inside. All they need is a little help. I charge $50/hr (1/2 hr min) and can usually complete several images in an hour's time depending on the effects you desire. All pictures shown in this gallery are shown in their before and after stages.

New Beginnings : This is something completely new for me. This began as an experiment, playing around in Photoshop combining photographic images with textures and blending them together. Then I started applying masks and filters to photographed textures then blending and recoloring. Now I have added geometric designs, some of which are totally created in Photoshop, with applied textures and filters. These pieces are designed to be printed large (30" and larger) on canvas.
